Last day at Barcelona so a cycle to Cubelles and Vilanova then caught up with our washing before leaving in the morning.

14 January 2020 Benicassim

Drove down to Benicassim through the mists of Tarragona arriving at lunchtime. As usual we do have some problems here but we are getting used to it. They now give out a wristband so they know you are a customer on site. Its a bit like all inclusive without anything free? This site would make a good setting for a new Benidorm type programme. Met up with our friends for coffee in the afternoon with cake. We have decided that because we like cake to have Cake and beans for tea!

Run day along the beach this morning how fab we both loved it. Sat around for a coffee and chat with friends then a walk on the beach and up into town, tea and another evening walk on the beach.

Cycle to Cubelles for coffee and cake then into Vilanova for lunch sandwich coffee and cake yum yum.

Train into Sitges today for some shopping bus back.

Cycle into Sitges to look at the setting up for the Sitges half Marathon. In the afternoon caught the bus into Vilanova for lunch.

Walk into Vilanova for coffee and Cake bus back then a rest afternoon in the sun as we had a really cold night with a frost this morning Ugh! Picture below of me hanging out Maureen’s glove to dry. Naughty me Hee Hee.

Day into Barcelona went in by train today. Had a walkabout and while looking at this 280 million dollar boat we were approached by the petition scammers a first for us so we told them to bog off and Maureen warned two other by shouting “scammers”. A good day out.

On a morning when we leave the van there is a strange dry area outside like a footprint that we can not explain why this stays dry overnight?

Sitges on the Barcelona bus for some Christmas food shopping and coffee. On the site the car parking places on the new chalets have a solar panelled roof to assist the electrics.

Cycle into Vilanova with friends for lunch had a good ride about. We have noticed the cycle way has now markings for electric scooters.

Celebrations not too bad last night. A cold morning but managed a 18 mile cycle up to l’Arboc.

Shopping morning so our friends unhooked their van and we drove to a Mercadona for a big shop. Sat around in the afternoon sun chatting.

Cycle down to Cubelles today coffee and cake on the seafront. Cycle back up to Vilanova I’la Geltru for lunch sandwich coffee (with cake). A good 3 1/2 Hr. cycling

Out today with friends walked down to a small churros and chocolate cabin in a park for churros and coffee. Sat enjoying the sun in the afternoon.

Bus into Barcelona this morning to visit the refurbished Sant Antoni market Hall. Very good took a while to do but great.

Walked down to the harbour through the spice district for lunch then a steady walk through the streets back for a bus and look at Catalunya Square Christmas display very disappointing this year, ever year they spend less and less this year ??? white rabbits?

A good day for running so a short run as we are both tired. We then caught the bus into Vilanova for lunch and some shopping.

Caught the bus into Sitges for a walkabout and lunch a rough sea.

Sunny start so out with the bikes and a 2 hour cycle to L’Arboc uphill but a great ride back one of the photos is of the scum on the surface of the water the other is the hills above Barcelona where Monserrat is.

Came across some artwork on the way back this was painted on boars ½” thick they even painted the sunlight on the people very good.

Lovely sunny day but windy so a run this morning from the campsite to Vilanova beach great idea saved bus fare, wind on our backs and downhill FAB. Coffee in town and a walkabout.

Good drive down sunny but windy, passed the Nescafe factory at Girona Mmmmm! What a lovely smell on the air so must stop for a coffee. Pulled up at a service station and got a couple of LaVazza coffee??? This coffee? Has been dragged up from the bottom of the sea it was one of the worst ever.

Arrived at our new campsite got a good pitch in the sun so a bus down to Vilanova I La Geltru for another coffee and cake.

Barcelona is calling us so a bus into Barcelona for a good walkabout and a Lunch stop at Starbucks on the harbor, it’s good to be back they are just putting the Christmas decorations up in Catalonia Square so pictures of that next time we are there. Exercise day tomorrow.

Good drive down although windy in places no trouble crossing the border. Arrived Capmany just in time for office opening. Had a walk down into the village a sleepy one horse town.

A small church open this time. Back to the site for washing the van all nice and clean now. Its a bit too warm we are getting temperatures of around 17C can walkabout with our coats off.

Drive down 2hr, stopped for a cold coffee Ugh! the worst yet  in France. Sunshine must be getting near Spain. Its a few years since we stopped at this campsite as it was always noisy (road) but it has less camping car pitches now and we are further up the site away from the road, but the campsite is OK for a night. shared showers and outside loos good job its warm. Lots of works on site.

Cycle to La Roche-de-Glun this morning 2 hour The restaurant we stopped at was not open until 1200 but they did a couple of coffees for us its good we chose large coffee as they are the size of small in the UK. We saw a Coypu at the side of the river.
