18 July 2020 The Lake District

Arrived at our campsite Nr Keswick at 1300 book in was easy we counted out our discount vouches in front of a Warden then ripped them up and disposed of them in a box. Toilet facilities 3 persons at a time with a wristband system for entry and exit.

pegs

Washing up 1 sink only 2 toilets 2 shower and 2 sinks.

The site is full every day. Had a walk part way up Latrig but did not venture into Kesick as it was to busy. After 4 months of lockdown we are pleased to be back in a situation that allows us to moan all day again about the stupid human race. We have Dogs at every Pitch around us at one Family across from us left his dog alone for 5 Hours + in the caravan (well done) Some of the children are cycling round and round the campsite how they don’t get dizzy is amazing.

19 July 2020 The Lake District

Up at 0600 a lovely sunny day so walked up Walla Crag, then into Keswick to buy some water bottles for the bikes as we may do some longer cycles here. Then our first coffee out for months at The Chalet Portinscale. Back to the campsite got changed into our cycling gear and cycled up to the Mill Inn Mungrisedale (Closed) back to the campsite for Lunch and a shower. Drove back to Keswick but still to busy for a walkabout. We have bumped into 4 sets of friends today and has been good catching up. The Guy who left his dog alone must have been told about it by a warden as today he left his 8 year old son with it when they went out?

21 July 2020 The Lake District (Troutbeck Head)

Up early again a lovely day so out with the bikes and cycled to Keswick and back a round trip of about 20 miles with lots of hills Ugh! Hard work. Stopped for coffee at Threlkeld Coffee shop. After 12 years on the road non stop we have eventually come across a bad couple of dog owners (3 dogs) off the lead, wandering on to our pitch the dog leads to long and nearer our pitch than theirs barking late at night early morning and when any one walks pasts or shuts a door Wow how bad Maureen complained for the first time ever.. What a shame!!!! The Wardens say that they can do nothing unless THEY hear them (That’s a copout to do nothing).

22 July 2020 The Lake District

Up early again (Dog Alarm went Off) had another walk up Walla Crag then a walkabout in Keswick caught up with a few friends. A bit of a dampday on and off so not much exercise.

The last entry in the table painting contest is in and what a cracker a brilliant paint job. The first picture is the Artist explaining how she painted it and the technique of using many layers of paint and dragging chains across the wet paint then finishing with a table fork before varnishing the back to weatherproof.

Very windy so a walk around the farm lonnins this morning a blustery coffee break. After coffee we had a look around a development in a new farm cottage conversion then a look at the preparations that are taking place for a new large slurry tank that is going to be built in the next 2 weeks.

Sunday still wet and windy but managed a run this morning as it still is warm. Noticed this water monster sheltering from the rain and trying to steal some wood (naughty).
