Once again the campsite is closing so our time in Keswick is cut short. The campsite this morning is like an ice rink as it has rained overnight then frozen over but the wardens are now out sanding. We don’t have far to travel this morning to our home for the next few months so no rush to leave as ever body started leaving from 0730 and will wait while the roads get better. So out with the wellies again and walking around on the farm lonnings and the beach with nothing around us but birds, owls sheep, cows, foxes and deer we are so lucky.
The campsite we are on is not very busy due to travel restrictions. The weather is very cold and we are using both gas and electricity heating to avoid our boiler dumping its water it has an auto drain system that ditches the water tank/boiler at -2 to avoid damage. The temp over Thursday night was -8 shops open again today so got some new socks for our wellies then had a couple of walkabouts before the rain arrived.
Still enjoying our walks down the farm tracks and have started walking along the beach as well we do so love the sea. Noticed all the new fencing, dyke repairs and the new hedges been planted and the lonning getting muddier. Noticed on the burnt out pile of the old November the 5th bonfire an old tin and have decided to make it my new project as it is in a horrible state but will turn into something good?
Noticed some fab fungi on a tree or is it an (Alien)
Still keeping nice and fit with lots of walking in the countryside. A lovely frosty morning today so a walk down to the sea front and onto the beach. Spotted some rock fish in a pool WOW.
On the way back some some lovely ice creatures but my pocket only has a few eyes in it.
We are still feeling lucky being out in the country side although we are feeling the strain with the amount of rain. Still managing to get out for exercise and watching the farmers at work putting up new fencing around their fields. Noticed the ram out with its rattle on.
The field is filling up with water again although it looks more like Swan Lake in this picture.
We have received our latest update picture from our friends in Keswick on the progress of the Threlkeld cycle path see below.
Still enjoying ourselves in the countryside on our walk today spotted what I think is a rare version of Crown of thorns coral not usually found down farm tracks I have seen it before while diving in The Indian Ocean whilst suffering from Narcosis.
We have moved back into Isolation again in the countryside for a while as traveling to Spain is out of the question this winter. We have had to cancel our trip to Portsmouth for a damp test and our habitation test. We have had a lovely bonfire and managed to contribute with all the wood from the greenhouse we took down at our house.
Its years since we had a sparkler in our hands. Have started running again this week and building up speed and distance while keeping an eye on blood pressure but still in the normal band. Trying to remove the table in the motorhome as the bolts on the support have worked loose and the stem wobbles a small problem is how to loosen the glue sticking it to the floor but hay ho! I like a challenge. Had a couple of runs again and some long walks with M and B… Had a great drawing competition with B granddaughter see pictures.
Still running and long walks. Managed to repair the table in the van we managed to loosen the glue by using Acetone (nail varnish remover) with the help of a wallpaper scraper a counter sunk screw had worked loose and was jamming the rotary movement tightened up and sealed round the newly fitted table with PVA.
Next job was to wash the roof we are lucky the builders put up a small section of scaffolding for us so all done in 30 mins FAB thanks guys.
