8 – 9 May 2021 Shrewsbury

Rain on the 8th so we only managed a walk up to the Farm shop for some tea, yummy chicken curry. The picture above was taken in Buxton and I forgot to put it up on the web I do like skeletons I have one but no body!! has seen it yet. Below is something we have had to buy as one campsite in Scotland that we are going to insists on campers using.

Had a good cycle this morning 9th into Shrewsbury and beyond to some new places also had another cycle in the Afternoon to Bicton then Shrewsbury again.

There are some stunning buildings here I did find these interesting doors on one while stood drinking our Costa Coffee

3 May 2021 Harrogate

We have now had 2 cycles to Ripley on the first occasion we had a look around the Gin brewery a very interesting place lots to see. The second time we stopped for a coffee at the Castle really good coffee. The next big cycle was to Wetherby via Follifoot and Spofforth on route 67.Had a run round the woods near the showground and had a couple of Costa coffee with friends. Next a big walk with friends 3 Hours.

4 – 6 May 2021 Buxton

Walk into town twice walks up to Solomons Tower and a good run about near the site. Lots of Hail and snow but also lots of sunshine.

7 May 2021 Shrewsbury

A difficult drive down must have passed 300 speed cameras ? A bit of shopping then a cycle into Shrewsbury weather has been lovely today.

29 April 2021 Harrogate

We are on the move again and have spent 2 days up at Troutbeck head campsite Nr. Keswick the Covid rules were good with the toilet block open for 2 toilets and 2 hand sinks. I was surprised at the amount of small campers with no shower facilities fitted on site and did see one person body washing in the toilet block. One major issue was the sanitizer fluid containing the rubber bands froze up this morning good job I have done an ice axe breaking course. The small Peugeot  Expert Van next to us. Had that many doors that were opened and closed about 10 times a minute for a while was disturbing and a source of entertainment as the guy had moved pitches once but failed to leave the electrical problem (it came with him) after about 30 minutes the warden came to check but all was well with the electrics next morning he moved again to a new pitch. I can imagine it failing its MOT on worn out doors. The electric problem is still about and has attacked another motorhome. Due to people using all their own facilities they run the heating, boiler, television, microwave and kettle all at once and don’t understand the maths…..Volts  X Amps = Watts. …

Had a cycle down to Threlkeld coffee shop to meet some friends coming back was uphill into the wind and the first hills for nine months and a bit of a struggle? Had a couple of walks during the afternoon and nearly had to send for mountain rescue as I got crag fast on top of a speed ramp on the campsite road (yes I know WHIMP) but these are the first hills we have come across and it’s a bit scary for us oldies.

Good drive down today took the long route down through the Lakes to see the impact was with us all been allowed to travel. Got here about 1300 and booked in now to meet some friends for coffee and a bit of shopping for tea.

27 April 2021 On the move

Hi folks we are mobile again and have started our travels again will catch up soon as the first campsite has no internet or phone signal (No its not on Mars) although travelling may seem a bit out of this world for a while.

25 April 2021 Isolation

The van is all washed boiler checked  40 mins to mad hot. Water tanks sorted and van getting filled up with supplies soon.

My latest project a Bumble Bee made from wire  toilet paper and old plastic bits.

On our cycle to Maryport we noticed a new commemorative seat good cycle but very windy on the way back.

21 April 2021 Isolation

Great weather today but to windy for us whimps to cycling so a couple of walks. After a few good days the ground is now drying out

The camera was out last night and we got the head of a fox and the Badger again.

After a walkabout we found some wire from the electric cable reinforcing.  and have started another new project.

On our evening walk came across a Dandy – lion Clock a bit early in the season (Click on image for BIG)

20 April 2021 Isolation

Last night had the camera out again and caught the Badger 3 times after our tracking skills have now found its run from the set. Click image for BIG.

We also managed to get a film of a Hare

Out for a 30 minuet run again today then met up with friends from Keswick to show them the old forest on the beach at Maryport. We then walked among the flowers the Daffs are now receding and the Two-lips are coming through and even the Dandelions’ even look good. Click images for BIG……

18 April 2021 Isolation

Managed a 30 minuet run yesterday and still getting a few cycles down the coast and lots of walking.

Put the Wildwife Camera out last night and got the Badger again.

Have had our second Covid jab now so we are good to go traveling now and have made plans to move soon. This morning we arrived back just in time to feed the lambs

Lovely day so a couple of walkies noticed that the new hedrow is starting to grow.

Great day for cycling yesterday so a small 15 mile cycle down the Dog Path (cycle way)? Unusually a strange day for comments normally everybody OK which prompts me to list a few comments we hear. Had a 10 min. run out in the motorhome to spin the wheels.
