6 June 2021 Keswick
Arrived in Keswick long wait to get in as usual. Pitched up then picked the car up and had a look at our friends new holiday cottage now its finished and ready for letting.
Took the car for a wash ready for a service tomorrow a late tea and a photo of the lake in the evening on a short walk.
5 June Barnard Castle
Had our usual 3 walks in and out of town our coffee stop and a bit of shopping, on the way in we found that someone had found a good way of getting a pipe over a river? use the footbridge.
On the campsite the old fire buckets are used as a herb garden and the markers in the Buckets are made from deer horns.

3 – 4 June Barnard Castle
Short drive with no problems on the roads for a change got here 1 min. early wow.
Had a walkabout into Barney and noticed a shop display thingy (Mini-Meet 2021) this is instead of a cancelled event looks good.
4 June had a walk into town again up to the Bowes museum where we saw a wonderful statue and a dead puzzle tree.
Walked into town 3 times today as it is lovely weather and had a walkabout in the woods.
29 May – 2 June 2021 Harrogate
A monster drive 3 Hour for a 1hour 15 drive slow traffic and a crash on the M62.
Had a good cycle to Wetherby again this time with a friend, cycle to Ripley Castle again with friends, cycle to Knaresbrough again. Had a few walkabouts and a special 3 mile walkabout with friends. Cycle up to Harrogate to get Maureen a new jacket. Been having many coffee’s with friends and good times not many picture. Below is a field full of Buttercups and Darian pushing Maureen on her bike (not really a picture of Maureen but one in Knaresbrough of Maureen.
28 May 2021 Uttoxeter
Another lovely day with not much to do the usual walkabouts and coffee and a bit of sitting down (so unusual).
The race course is getting everything ready for Sunday racing and it was good fun getting across the track with the water sprinklers on.

Lots of motorway driving today but good weather. A bit different to Cheltenham race course. Had a walk into town very – very quiet here so we had to resort to entertaining ourselves looking for appropriate street signs?
The internet here arrives by Ticker Tape !!!!! its so slow I certainly would not name a horse after it and enter it into a race here.
Had a walk round the track last night. Only 10 and 1/2 furlongs.
26 May 2021 Cheltenham
Early morning walk into Cheltenham again this morning, back for lunch then walked up to the Race course Railway station to see the lunchtime train.
An easy afternoon then a walk round the outside of the race course as you can walk right round it but we were thwarted by mud and returned the same way.
25 May 2021 Cheltenham
As usual up early into town to try to get Maureen a new windproof. Coffee then back to the site.
While in town we found some lovely grafitti see below click images for big.
Walked back into town in the afternoon then later in the evening had a walk north of the race course and came across some more horse shoes how lucky are we. Also The railway station.
24 May 2021 Cheltenham
Had a walk into Cirencester early this morning for our coffee fix then back to the site to get ready to leave. The drive was only to be 35 mins. but the road works at Cheltenham was bad.
Booked in had lunch then had a walk down into town just 25 mins. each way. This site is basic but is so different to the bigger sites and unusual to have the racecourse to ourselves.
Below are the gents toilet block only three people in at a time so plenty of room no chance of splashing!
23 May 2021 Cirencester
Had a last walk yesterday evening under the underpass to look at the coliseum (grass mound) not worth a picture. But spotted a picture getting there.
Had a walk into town this morning and into The Abby park to look at the old Roman wall (not worth a picture) Had a coffee and bought a new charging lead for my mobile phone. Back to the site washed the van because it may rain tomorrow and washing it will make it happen. Rain all afternoon but may get a walk tonight fingers crossed. Will attempt to write a new chapter for our 12 years of travel book called (Living with the Covid pandemic on campsites).
