This site reception today is the worst experience I have encountered in 18 years of travel I thought I had landed on another planet. The first 2 couples I spoke to had also had a bad experience with them ?

2

NO its not a warden its an old friend visiting me

3

I have now put this campsite on my never visit again list.

After lunch out with the bike but the weather looked awful got 2 mile up the road and turned back just got the bike away and rain.

13 May 2026 Old Hartley

Bus into town for coffee again as windy and wet again.

In the afternoon weather improved so a cycle down to Blyth on The Eve Black cycle / dog path!

The path is named in honour of Eve Black who passed away in 2006, and in her role as Councillor, had been a strong advocate for the path, which was built in 2000

1

Along the route is a cycle thingy when you sit on the seat in front they all join together to show some cyclists.

2

This Dude is guarding an old machine gun turret

3

Called into the harbour to see if the old lightship was still there.

Moored in South Harbour, Blyth, LV50 is one of the oldest floating wooden Lightships in the UK. Built in 1879 for Trinity House , Light Vessel No.50 was stationed in dangerous waters where lighthouses could not be built. Left to the perils of the sea, her beacon and fog signal warned mariners of hazards around our coast.

5 May 2026 Edinburgh

A cycle into Dunbar again this morning no coffee n cake as Trip Advisor does not give good ratings in this town and yesterdays was not so good and one we found years ago was shut until Wednesday.

Drive up to Edinburgh no problems just the usual road works and lots of blue lights flying about. A cycle up to Starbucks a lovely coffee for a change back down to the seafront and along to see Cramond Isle and the lovely Gas thingy. Passing the lovely Cramond Station now an art centre.
