Another lovely day got of the bus a stop earlier to look around a few streets after the stunning houses in Sitges thought I would show you what living in the streets of Villanova could be like.
A washing day and Van wash to get the dust off ready for moving soon.
On the eve of Three Kings’ Day, January 5, almost all Spanish cities and towns hold the traditional Cabalgata de Reyes, a large parade through the streets. The Three Wise Men give sweets to the children, and they give them the letters they have written.
When this happens after walking about in Villanova your shoes collect sticky sweet papers and you will grow an inch and take an hour to get them back of your shoes?
Walk along the beach this morning in Villanova to have a look at the bull.
Cycle into Sitges in the afternoon to get a piece of pizza for tea. Love the houses here.
Bus to town for coffee cake and walkabout nearly time to leave had some good walkabouts but need a change now. While having coffee I bumped into Simon Templar (The Saint) been a bit shy I only managed to get this is the picture.
In the afternoon cycle part way to L’Arboc then down to Cubells for afternoon coffee.
3 January 2025 Barcelona
After the horrible picture of the Cactus on the wall I came across these 2 lovely ones.
In the afternoon had a cycle to Les Roquetes its a while since I have been here so had a good look around.
Last night was spectacular the campsite restaurant did not close until 0300 live music great to listen to every time I woke up the last song was at 0230.
Welcome to a new year with most shops closed today I thought I would first cycle to Cubells luckily the coffee shop I use on the seafront was open so coffee and a chocolate chip cookie YUMMY cycled up into Cubells very quite. On the way back I noticed a very clever way of stopping people getting into your garden put a cactus on top of the wall.
Most of the campers bring all their table wine and food out into the car park area on the campsite for an afternoon of music and fun today. I decided to have another cycle into Villanova very busy on the sea front town not bad. An hour sitting in the sun lovely.
Down at the bus station is where the local train museum is.
Into Villanova for coffee and shopping shops will be closed again for new year. The roads are very busy at the moment Spain is on the move for holidays now.
Cycle again in to Sitges for a look around different route this time market day on the sea front and stopped to take a picture of the lovely houses here.
On the cycle route I have spotted these sewing machines over the years but they are getting a bit rusty now.
It was April fools day in Spain on the 28 December so a little bit of information for you all.
April Fool’s Day isn’t a tradition in Spain, so we don’t celebrate it. But we have our special day for jokes and pranks, and it’s in the middle of the Christmas period: on 28th of December.
‘Día de los Santos Inocentes’
Nowadays, in Spain we celebrate this day by pranking each other, and making jokes (sometimes too risky). The classiest joke is to stick a paper in the shape of a child on people’s backs. When the victim realizes the joke or “Inocentada”, the jokers will scream: Innocent! which in Spanish is “¡Inocente!”.
Into town on a very busy bus today more people on the site for new year than Christmas. Town was lovely and empty just how I like it. Coffee then a walk down to the Sunday antique market at the bottom of the Rambler.
In the afternoon my usual cycle about looking for new things.
