10/11 April 2026 Harrogate/York

Still chatting and catching up with friends moved today to York stopped at GO OUTDOORS for some toilet blue don’t do the 2 liters any more so had to get 1.3 litre bottles same price £14 ouch. Must have been a flood lately lots of crocs about.

What a lovely tree.

Noticed I had a headlight bulb out so replaced dinner then a walkabout in town between showers. VERY busy.

Stopped to see if any of my witch friends in town.

Betty’s now take online bookings so waiting outside is optional.

Coffee with friends again Starbucks this morning then a cycle into town then another meetup.

Passed these 2 yesterday.

8 April 2026 Harrogate

A cycle this morning for coffee at Ripley Castle. A lovely day and lovely weather.

A lovely route on The Greenway cycle path some times called the Brownway due to the amount of horse and dog poo!

I passed through Starbeck on both my cycles today and love the decorations for Easter on the cross.

The afternoon cycle was to Knaresborough market day.

Below the oldest in Britain ?

Coffee this afternoon at Fodders they left it on the counter while chatting so it arrived cold….complained they changed it and gave it to me for free.

Another lovely day catching up with friends then a cycle into town. Easter decorations on the shop window below.

This large motorhome arrived on site.

What’s on at the Harrogate Showground.

When cycling into town I spotted this outside the front of Pavillions.

I was also amazed at what I spotted at the back of Pavillions and also further down the road at the campsite.

And no its not from mister foxy XX

A difficult drive today gosh I hate these British motorways and roadworks. Met up with friends in the afternoon for coffee and catchup not seen them since Spain.

Love this Sexy Cow outside Fodders in Harrogate may make one some day. Here for a few days so a few good walkabouts due.

4 April 2026 Shrewsbury

In to town first thing for coffee one of the costa’s shut ! a walk about.

This town has a lot of crime and there is always a police van parked in town EVERY time I come here. Even the posts are dangerous.

If you are very careful you may spot an old coach and horse.

This is outside a bank probably praying it won’t not shut down !

A washing day again due to moving tomorrow.

3 April 2026 Shrewsbury

Into town twice by bus today as the weather looks threatening.

Love the name on this ally wonder how it got it?

The Dun Cow is a prominent figure in British folklore, representing a, mythical,, giant,, cream-colored beast that provided endless milk. Legend states it was driven mad by a witch’s greed, rampaging through Warwickshire before being slain by Guy of Warwick. It is also linked to the founding of Durham and early Irish literature

2 April 2026 Shrewsbury

Not seen any on site yet. This town has some very lovely buildings.

In the afternoon a 2hr cycle love the flowers in this park stunning.

Decided to have another look at Scrooges grave as it was been cleaned up last time I was here.

But film buffs and literature fans have another reason to stop there: the grave of Ebenezer Scrooge. He may be fictional, his redemptive adventure may be fictional, but his resting place is quite real. Well, sort of.

Scrooge was not dead to begin with. Only for 40 years has the grave been delighting unsuspecting visitors who stumble across it.

That’s because the engraved name did not appear until a 1984 movie adaption of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, starring George C Scott. As for the gravestone itself, that had been in the churchyard for hundreds of years, according to locals.

St Chad’s Church in Shrewsbury is in its own right a fixture on the town’s tourist trail.

If you ever visit here and loose your bearings a good place to get them back Ha Ha!

1 April 2026 Shrewsbury

Bus into Stratford-on Avon for a walkabout and coffee before leaving for the next site.

2 Hour drive used the M6 to save fuel what a horrible drive on British motorways UGH!

On arrival in Shrewsbury lunch then a bus into town from the Park and Ride outside the campsite £1 return.

WOW this is a BIG bunny.

30 March 2026 Warwick

Walk into Morton for a last look around and coffee before leaving for Warwick only a 40 mins. drive. Walk into Warwick to look at any changes just like everywhere more shops shutting in every town I go to.

Bus into Stratford on Avon this morning then in the afternoon a bus into Royal Leamington Spa on the way back caught a different bus for a change interesting journey
