Rain, rain and more rain. Drove to Park and Ride and caught bus into city. Visited the Chocolate Experience, pretty poor after the one in Tournon sur Rhone (Valrhona). No free samples!!! Good walk around in the Shambles. On return to the Park and Ride had a wander around the Monks Cross shopping.
Wednesday, last day here, even more rain. Managed to get out lunchtime – a boat would have come in handy. Visited Monks Cross again.
Arrived after a busy difficult 1 Hr journey. Checked out the Park and Ride into York its very good and cheap to use £1.00 Return.
Had a walk about and a coffee very disappointing AGAIN last 3 Costa Coffee shops have been terrible in Yorkshire hope it gets Better.
Second day a ride into YORK again and a visit to the Cathedral we both haven’t been here for a very long time it was free last time its that long ago. £18 for 2 now WOW.

Enjoyed bacon butties at High Lodore Farm. Lovely meal at the Pheasant Inn on Crosthwaite Road. Had a good morning out with our friend and her granddaughter in the playground and then in the newly opened Pencil Museum.

Steady drive up from Southport. Picked up the car and took it to the garage for its MOT. Passed OK, taxed. That’s all our jobs done for the year!!! Now back on holiday.
Back to running and walking in this beautiful part of the country, catching up with friends – now full of coffee and cake. Had our first bacon butty for a long time down the Borrowdale Valley at High Lodore Farm. Yummy!!! Been to the cinema a couple of times love the Alhambra here in Keswick.
Travelled up from Stratford in busy road conditions but managed a stop over with friends in Manchester. What a wonderful lunch we had a 10 Star experience a highlight of my life stopping to see these friends XXX
An unusual visit to Southport the notice board on the campsite said tide in 1200 we thought what a cruel joke as we have (and Other people we have spoken to) have never seen the sea here ever!
Today the tide was in. WOW (click for larger Image)
Went to watch micro car racing on a track in Soutport pretty good
Good journey up from Weston Super Mare. Arrived 12.30, booked in, had lunch then caught the little river ferry into town for a coffee. Over the 3 days did our usual things,
Maureen had a couple of runs to the Obelisk, first night had a meal in the campsite restaurant.
Our second visit here this year after returning from St. Ives. Plenty of walk-abouts and bus journeys visiting Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and Cockington.
Went up to the bar and entertainment whilst here – not as good as it used to be.
Longer journey down than anticipated with heavy traffic. Arrived after lunch, walked into town to see the first of the family, Barbara and Paul, and had a walk-about. Next day Maureen had a run to the Knill monument, twice, to put distance in, Darian walked up. Lovely display of flowers up there.
Caught the campsite bus into town to meet up with everyone to go for a meal in the evening.
Walk to Carbis Bay for coffee Sunday morning then back into town for the Food Market on Porthminster Beach – just our cup of tea so to speak, yum yum.
Monday morning Sandra and Peter picked us up to go out for the day. Went to see the Minack Theatre which was amazing. Also looked around the Telegraph Museum which was really interesting then onto Mousehole for lunch. Sandra, who loves following our travels, tried to impress us hoping for a job with ‘Get You Lost Tours’ took us down a path into someone’s garden! Sorry Sandra not good enough, that is not lost enough. Thanks for a lovely day.
