29 August 2022 Berwick

Before leaving for Berwick a cycle down to Ridley Park Blyth for another Scone cake and coffee with friends. A longer than we thought journey again due to heavy traffic. Called in at go outdoors for some supplies. An easy resting afternoon chatting.

30 August 2022 Berwick

Cycle into Berwick with friends for a look about stopping for a coffee in town and a cycle down to Spittal beach people watching after lunch and some washing today.

22 – 25 August 2022 Keswick (57 campsites 121 cycles)

Arrived after a small drive over the A66 stopping at Stainmore for a break. Laundry and a short walk into Braithwaite.

Next day cycle to Threlkeld for coffee and meet friends in the afternoon doctors (cycle into town)

Next day Maureen Dentist so a cycle again.

Next day Coffee with friends at the at The Theatre at the Lake a first for us (lovely coffee) then met up with a friend for coffee in Keswick in the afternoon. Then get ready to leave in the morning.

26 August 2022 Old Hartley (57 campsites 127cycles)

Keswick to Old Hartley today very busy traffic a four hour journey with petrol and shopping stops.

27 August 2022 Old Hartley (57 campsites 128 cycles)

Cycle this morning up to Blyth coffee and wonderful scones with strawberry’s cream  and Cranbury’s. Ridley Park café. Had an interesting cycle round the marina where there is an old ship lighthouse. Back to the site for some sunbathing and relax.

28 August 2022 Old Hartley (57 campsites 129 cycles)

Up early cycle to Tynmouth with friends coffee an cake stop, Maureen used her Rubbee a bit on this cycle a bit scary at one point as she went very fast difficult to catch! Not a good day for cycling due to Bank Holiday very busy. A relaxing afternoon in the sun, campsite very busy.

16 August Harrogate 2022 (55 Campsites 119 Cycles)

Moving day so drove up from York.

Met friends for coffee in the afternoon and then gave the campsite and offices a lovely picture for the site.

17 August Harrogate 2022

Up early for a cycle with friends up to Ripley Castle for coffee and cake. In the afternoon coffee at Fodders.

18 August 2022  Harrogate (120 cycles)

Cycle up into Harrogate need a bit of shopping met a friend for a costa then cycled back through the showground.

19 August 2022 Harrogate

Met friends for coffee. Shower then met family for lunch at Fodders then met some more friends for afternoon coffee WOW what an expensive day feeling a bit hipper as well to much caffeine. Had a look round a Tractor auction on the showground some really lovely old tractors.

20 August 2022 Harrogate (121 cycles)

Cycle up to Ripley castle again with friend’s then afternoon coffee.

21 August 2022 Keswick (56 campsites 121 cycles)

Moving day today a short 2 hour drive up to Keswick catching up with washing then an afternoon walk.

15 August 2022 York

Cycle this morning into town Maureen had a look in St Olave’s Church the walked through the gardens past St Mary’s Abbey had a coffee in town but didn’t enjoy it. Walk this evening and then it has started to rain WOW haven’t seen that for a while.

14 August 2022 York

Up early for a cycle again a lovely ride not many people about a 1 hour ride.

After lunch a walk into town to get me a new belt for my shorts. Then an evening short walk.

13 August 2022 York

Up early after a good nights sleep walked into town for a look around called at a couple of bike shops looking for a new bike for Maureen very disappointed lack of stock and staff.

If you only have a small pitch park your bikes on the top of the hedge.

After lunch had a cycle out to York racecourse with Maureen then a cycle on my own for an hour into York via the railway station and York Minster and back via the  Millennium bridge a good cycle. In the evening a walk in the shade up the river bank Saturday! lots of party people.

Had a walk round the lake at Poolsbrook.

A difficult drive due to hot weather and traffic a short drive took us 3 hours very busy. When it got a bit cooler had a walk along side the river Ouse.

Finale have left Buxton and had a small drive down to Chesterfield stopped to have a look at a new bike for Maureen but none in stock. Really mad hot but managed a short walk in the shade this evening and came across a good picture for this mad 27 degrees heat.

We were inspired by some pictures on the BBC website so armed with our phone set on Food? we went bug hunting.

Not much success so back to normal for the cows at Soloman’s Temple

3 August 2022 Chatsworth

Had a lovely early morning walk into the park again to take in the sculptures a wonderful morning best we have seen in a long time a really good visit.
