Windy cold day with rain overnight so how is our day going to pan out after the exciting day we had yesterday ?
Walkies again with friend good as usual when we got back we looked at the new calf’s.
While looking around for things to do we found an old beer bottle from the now closed Maryport brewery the bottle is 100 years old and took a couple of weeks and some bleach to get all the solid remains of the dead slugs that have been in it for a while !!!
Founded c.1780.
Registered November 1890 to acquire the business of Frederic Robinson Sewell with 63 public houses. As a result of their tied houses in Carlisle being brought under state control in 1916, the brewery output was reduced by more than 50%.
So the houses left were sold to the State Management scheme in November 1916 and brewing ceased November 1921.
Over the last few months we have been putting together a large spider made of odd pieces of cardboard and the eyes made from shells we picked up off the beach at Cramond near Edinburgh.
We now have a Wildlife Camera and will hopefully get some images to place on the blog over the coming weeks .
