Struggling a bit the weather has been terrible so much rain haven’t seen this much for a very long time. We do manage to get out and have been up to Surprise view and Ashness Bridge round the Lake down to St Johns in the Vale round Bass Lake where we bumped into a friend in her car. Managed to catch up with Geoff hurray.
Moved up to Keswick a good drive up but missed our lovely coffee and bacon butty. Weather has been good for the first 10 days and we got a visit from our bubble friends with their motorhome.
Had some good cycles and social distant walks along the lakeshore. Keswick very busy as usual and some funny campers on site (rentals). The campsite is very well managed and we feel safe.
Had a look around St Johns church yard to find the grave of Hugh Walpole and a look at the inside of the church.
The wonderful thing about having lived here in a small town is the amount of friends you bump into on a walk through town.
Lots of rain overnight as you can see from the picture of the waterfall in Hawes. Early morning walk up to the Green Dragon pub at Hardraw then back into town, still quiet due to it being early.
Washing day again so everything nice and clean. Managed to sit in the sun for a while after lunch although still quite cool, then a walk after tea into Hawes.
Had a couple of walks this morning some shopping at Sainsburys before leaving Harrogate only a 1 hour 20 mins. drive. Its kill the wildlife day today lots of roadkill about.
Steady drive over to Hawes expecting a large queue but arriving at 1310 nothing (that makes a change for this site). Did some washing this dryer is seriously faulty its keeping all the moister in the drum we did mention this a year ago just after it had been fixed for a broken belt. Amazing been across from the toilet block you can see the cleaners working. Needed to use the washer / dryer again this morning so went across just after they had finished a deep clean and they had not cleaned out the dryer filter!!!
