Lovely sunny day so up early for a walk along the river bank. Above is a picture of the Kings Arms. We already have a picture of the Kings Head so if anyone knows where the Kings Legs pub is we would like to know.
We continued our walk up to the Minster returning through the town back to the campsite for coffee then cycled again down the Solar Way past Naburn. Back for lunch then a walkabout in Rowntree Park and a sit in the sun. In the evening a walk to the Millenium Bridge and up the other side of the river.

Early morning walk again as rain promised for today. Along the river bank, through the town to the Minster back down through the Shambles. With it being 8.00am not many people about.
Back to the campsite to our laundry as at our next campsite the laundry is closed. The key has to be obtained from reception due to the fact it has to be kept locked because people are using the sink for washing their pots instead of waiting at the dish-wash room
The rain has arrived so looks as though we will be confined to the van.
Lovely day bit still a bit chilly walked into York at 0830 to do some shopping great not many people about. Out with the bikes and had a cycle down route 65 to Naburn Lock to show M where i did some commercial diving to survey the flood defense gates 43 years ago so they could be replaced a dangerous dive as you can see from the images.
Good cycle route with planets and space ships its called The Solar Route out for 2 hours. Lunch shower and a walk by the river Ouse.
Below Spotted on Danes Dyke a Lighthouse or a gatepost? you decide
It has been a few difficult days due to storm force winds and heavy rain but we managed a few walks down Danes Dyke again onto the beach this is the place to go for Conkers in fact Cyril the Squirrel dropped a couple near us. We managed to see Deer twice.
Below a picture of a tree snapped by the wind.

This campsite is the worst yet with Covid procedures for such a small site it’s the first on our trip that has had a queue despite us arriving 1330 signs ar small and difficult to see. Walked into York for some new clothes whow busy….Don’t like the crowds and WHAT! (A food festival). Must avoid city campsites but only 2 more before home.
Rainy start so out with the umbrella and a walk over the golf course. After lunch brighter weather so a walk down to Danes Dyke and on to the beach/rocks see picture they are a stone painters dream. In the evening a short walk.
Up early as usual no queue outside the toilets this morning as it was raining! Shopping for supplies then drove down to Bridlington lots of road works, traffic and silly drivers. Left at 0800 arrived 1230.
Confined to the van due to heavy rain. Below is a picture of one of the many flower displays on site.
This is Seaton Sluice another entrance to the harbour that could be closed off and used as a dry dock.
Lovely sunny start but a bit windy so a cycle up to Tynmouth again its so much easier due to half the road being a cycleway. Part way I noticed a model boat on the lake a RNLI model so we stopped to photograph it.
Later in the evening we noticed people on St Mary’s lighthouse a little too late for the incoming tide so wandered down to watch 2 had to take their shoes off to get back (lucky).
Good weather so cycled down to Teignmouth and on to Fiddlers Green Statue. Later in the evening had a walk down to the lighthouse. Called in at a cycle shop en route for a new set of peddles for Darians bike as the bearings had gone in one of them. £13 so not a bad price.

Good weather again so cycle today to Blyth shipyard and noted the shipping to check later on shiptracker. The large barge was the one that was used in salvaging the Concordia.

Cycle day again to Teignmouth. We like this route as the road is one way and the other side is purely used for cyclists. Sat in the sun again this afternoon. Image below SPOT THE MERMAID (click image 4 BIG)
Lovely day but a bit windy so a cycle with friends over to St Mary’s lighthouse then back for coffee. We then cycled down to Blyth on a great cycle rout on 1.
Came across some great graffiti in a park down at Blyth and coffee in the Park (above). click image for BIG
Walk into Berwick and back via the other side of the river to look at the old ford. Had a walkabout on the Spittle Prom.
15 September 2020 Berwick on Tweed
Started to cycle down the coast road cycle route 1 to Holy Island this is a difficult cycle at first across fields full of young cows. We managed to get onto a good section and on passing a large gate M tried to close it while sat on her bike and stood on a cattle grid Soooo! Back to repairing a poorly leg I will be surprised if there is any section of this leg that isn’t scared?
Just received some up to date pictures of the Keswick cycle path from a friend in Keswick looking good.
16 September 2020 Old Hartley Seaton Sluice
Set of late and stopped to stock up food supplies then drove to GO Outdoors as my Approach shoes have given up the ghost and M wanted to buy some new chairs and a new pair of socks. Good drive down arrived at 1245 got a good pitch next to friends who travelled down last night. On the site is a burned out caravan that some Gypsies have been trying to get to so the gate to the site is closed and manned at the present.
