The weather was a bit better this morning so we cycled into town for a walkabout and coffee in George street Tea Shop a lovely experience. Cycled back to the site for lunch via Scone village. After lunch cycled back into town for another walkabout and back to the site just before it rained.
31 August 2019 Sterling
A short drive over to Sterling in the rain arrived just after mid day and caught a bus into Sterling expensive 2 returns £9.60 Ouch!
Had a walkabout and a Costa coffee lunch. Some shopping then back to the site. In the evening had a short walk up to Logie Kirk.
Slow drive down after a walk on sea front to a small coffee shop in Monifief. Booked in small site a long way from anywhere except the race course. Out with the bikes as there is only a bus every 2 hours. Cycled into Perth for coffee in a horrible costa!! On the way back cycled down to Scone Palace to see if we could get the motorhome down, yes it looks good.
29 August 2019 Perth
Unhooked then drove down to Scone Palace, a great morning out, everyone was so friendly and helpful great film giving the history. Stopped for coffee and scone then walked round the grounds and tried The Star Maze. 5 minutes from start to center only 1 wrong turn after memorizing the route.
Into Dundee this morning again for a walkabout, visited St Paul’s cathedral a lovely church had a good chat with the vicar. Then we visited The McManus Art gallery and Museum fab we really enjoyed it. In the afternoon washed the van, a first for us, the campsite charge £5.00 for water use! Into Broughty in the afternoon for a coffee.

Caught the bus into Dundee on a Day rider ticket (£7.00) bought from a bus conductor…YES the only bus route in Dundee WOW I thought they were extinct.
Visited Scott’s ship Discovery and Museum then had a look round The V&A, not a very attractive building. Then up in to town for a walkabout and got some copies of my latest Art masterpiece.
Back to the campsite for tea and cake then caught the bus again up to Broughty Ferry ( Broo’ty) for a look round the castle.
Slow drive down this morning only a 30 mins. drive, got a good pitch on a small site. Cycle down to Broughty Ferry and beyond to the docks outside Dundee to look at the Jack-Up rigs that I used to work on.
A walk into Stonehaven first thing for a coffee and came across this Barometer at the Harbour. Just a short drive to Forfar for our second visit. Walkabout in town then called in at Tiffin coffee shop to deliver a picture I have done for the owner, Rohan and coffee and cake.

Run round the Loch in the morning knocking a couple of mins. off our last time. Then more walkabouts.
24 August 2019 Forfar
Cycle day today round the Loch round the town then up to The Mill for lunch to try the Cullen Skink. (Smoked Haddock and Potato soup) with a cheese scone. In the afternoon picked up some art supplies for more picis. The picture below we thought was funny after eating ice cream from a converted toilet block on Mull.
Decided on the spur of the moment to catch the train to Aberdeen. A walkabout in the city gosh what a long street (Union Street). Coffee and back to Stonehaven for afternoon coffee and Cake in a wonderful little coffee shop called The Villa.

Walkabout and a couple of visits to The villa coffee shop again also visited The Tolbooth museum also a walk to Dunnotter woods where we had a chat to a local about the flood defense work going on and watched them drilling and concreting.
Good journey up arrived lunchtime had our usual walkabout and tried a coffee and cake at Shamrock and Thistle not bad for a small independent coffee shop. Saw some lovely little stainless steel models on the sea front.
19 August 2019 Stonehaven
This morning went for a walk to Dunnottar Castle along the cliffs a 5 mile return walk. Lovely history to the castle. In the afternoon our usual exploring walk and coffee and carrot cake in Cool Gaurmet coffee shop…too many dogs in here for us we were the only people in the place without a dog. Won’t be back here again.
Cycle into St Andrews this morning to kill a bit of time before our move up to Forfar. Visited the Castle (click image for BIG) then coffee in Taste coffee tea room very good busy with students coming and going.
Drove up to Forfar a good journey walked into town for a walkabout and afternoon coffee and cake in Tiffen a lovely cafe that has recovered well from being flooded 5 days ago. Had a look at the loch to see if it would make a good run. (Click image for BIG)
