Still generally running, walking and catching up with friends. Darian has started his new project, a 20 minute amusing lecture on the Murky World of Commercial Diving.
Beautiful poppy display below is at St. John’ Church in Keswick which is in knitted acrylic wool.
Still in the Keswick area enjoying running and walking on the fells and all the coffee breaks with friends. Had a trip down to Ambleside and Grasmere to watch a large relay fell race.
Campsite still OK although we had a dog barking over night at the rabbits as it is sleeping in the awning overnight and another couple left the dog in the camping car while they went off just a small problem with being in the dog friendly town of Keswick.
Lovely to be back in Keswick and running the fells again, although we have had some very wet days, in fact last weekend the adjacent campsite on the lake shore had to be evacuated due to the height of the lake rising several feet.
The past week or so we have been catching up with friends drinking innumerable cups of coffee and tea. Went into Costa Coffee early last week but it is not as good as earlier in the year. We asked for extra hot lattes but they were only just warm and very short measures so we have given it a miss since. Last night we enjoyed a lovely meal at the Pheasant Inn on Crosthwaite Road with our friend Carolyn but were very disappointed to note a substantial amount of snail trails on the carpet underneath our table – Ugh!! Van Serviced MOT and new front tyres.
Nice steady drive up through the Dales to Hawes. Booked in and after a bit of lunch walked up to Wensleydale Creamery. Bought some cheese and had coffee in the café. Had lots of walkabouts and today a good walk over to the Green Dragon. Below a picture showing how scaffolding is taking over the world. It is now surrounding a steam engine.
Had an interesting 4 days here in Richmond, the first day afternoon we cycled into town for a coffee. The next few days were running and walking. It takes about an hour to walk in on the old railway line and 45 minutes if you walk back through the woods by the fairys’ well and the Drummer boys stone. When you walk past the slanting wall at Easby Abby the rumour states that one day it will fall on two lovers…to Avoid this we had a big argument before the wall and made up after we had passed it.
We had a look round the 2 main churches and on the last day had a wonderful tour round The Old Georgian Theatre only 3 of us on the tour FAB.
