Long busy drive down (smart motorway upgrading still!) Campsite very small next to a dusty track that racecourse staff love flying up and down in quads covering our vans in dust (thanks for the smile as you pass).

Laundry day today so went into Durham a bit later. We had rung up and booked ourselves tickets for the 1.15pm tour around the castle. Very interesting but you only saw a small bit of the castle due to it being occupied by students. Noticed a colourful display of shoes on the way to the castle.
