Good journey down from Folkestone. Into Brighton for the afternoon for a walkabout.
Next morning we both went for a short run, then walked into town again.
Sunday raining so we thought there wouldn’t be a flea market at Brighton Marina so headed into Brighton’s back street for a walk around the independent shops. Afternoon went to the cinema to see Peter Rabbit – really feel good film.
Monday short run again for both of us then bus to Eastbourne. Large motorhome came onto the site. We believe its the biggest we have seen up to now, See pictures above and below.
Up at 0600 for a 4 Hr drive up to the Euro-tunnel, a good drive up despite travelling at 130 kilometer per hour at times. 3 french drivers overtook on the inside? probably getting me ready for driving in England. The train ride was unusually bumpy a bit of turbulence must have been a rough sea and the pipe rocking about on the seabed? Caught the bus into Canterbury for a walkabout and a bit of shopping on both days.
Good journey up roads not too busy. Arrived about 1100 after a spot of shopping at Lidl. Caught a bus No1 into Troyes and had a walkabout and a lovely coffee at French Coffee our second time we used this chain.
We are now travelling at a busy time the Easter period and are once again meeting the Amateur campers out here (Brushing teeth in washing up sinks, washing shoes in laundry sinks Poo on the floor in toilets). A different campsite to our usual at Geraudot fancied a change but as usual at this time of year not too spectacular but adequate for one night but handy for visiting Troyes 5 mins. by bus.
2 days of good cycling. First day up to Meursault through the vineyards. Unfortunately the coffee shop was closed today, so coffee back at the van. Also had a couple of walks into Beaune.
Today good cycle to Savigny les Beaune again and beyond this time. There looks to be a good campsite here for people who love the countryside. On the way back to the town followed some way markers for a walking tour probably. Very interesting as it took you around all the back alleys.
